On a more personal note, the Johnson family established the David K. Johnson Foundation to promote awareness and provide support for those affected by Alzheimer's disease and other progressive dementia disorders. The Foundation raises funds through an annual golf tournament and other activities to benefit Sanborn Home Care and The Alzheimer’s Association. Other beneficiaries have included the Reading Scholarship Fund.
