Timeless & transformed
Melrose, MA

When our clients purchased their home in a beautiful neighborhood in Melrose, they knew it had potential. While the floor plan was spacious with beautiful morning light, the kitchen and dining areas needed a renovation to match the caliber of the rest of the house.
The first-floor layout featured a somewhat cramped kitchen with a separate dining room. This restricted our clients for social events where their guests tended to gather in the kitchen. The kitchen showed years of wear and tear, while the dining room went mostly unused. It was immediately apparent that removing the wall between the two rooms and creating one large, cohesive space created a world of opportunity.
Anchoring the new kitchen is a vast island with space for preparing food and seating. Another focal point is the new hood over the Wolf range, providing more ventilation while also adding beautiful visual appeal. The St. Martin cabinets in White Oak and Dove Gray are accented by Calacatta Prado Polished Q Quartz countertops and a Retro Lino backsplash. The kitchen now features a double oven, as well as a dedicated serving bar near the dining table with a beverage fridge, perfect for entertaining. As a bonus, the combining of the kitchen and dining room allows for the light from the backyard to stream into the kitchen at the front of the house.
With the help of our designer, the new kitchen and dining space fit seamlessly into the existing look and feel of the home, which at 130 years old features detailed moldings and a charming New England feel. We couldn’t be happier with the way this project turned out and we wish our clients many happy years of enjoyment and hosting in their renovated space.
