Sophisticated City Living and Dining Room

This Sophisticated City Living and Dining Room Refresh is proof that you can incorporate personal and family heirloom items into a newly redesigned space. Our client wanted to update her living space while keeping items that were near and dear to her. These items became an inspiration for our design plan as we created a space that is uniquely theirs.

We re-worked the floor plan to maximize the space, giving our client three distinct living areas that are sophisticated and cohesive. As you enter the room, the sitting area fireplace is now the main focal point. We designed a custom fireplace to highlight the tall ceilings and traditional crown molding. The tile and electric firebox add to the elegance. The area is complete with a pair of swivel chairs which are both beautiful and practical as they add to the functionality of this multi-use space.

The living space, to the right of the fireplace, is furnished with both new and old items. The new sectional defines the space and ties into the existing side tables seamlessly. The custom pillows add color and interest. The new coffee table compliments the gold details throughout.

The dining space, which is tucked in the left corner of the room, adds to the sophistication of the room as well as the practicality. It is the perfect place to dine and entertain. We designed a built-in banquette for additional seating and added a round table to accommodate many. The textiles add rich color to an otherwise neutral space. The lighting as well as the artwork are personal and family heirlooms that we incorporated into the design. The space is grounded with beautifully textured wall to wall carpet and the space was completed with neutral drapery with a navy trim detail.

The space is now transformed into a sophisticated and timeless living and dining room that showcases the beautiful pieces and memories of the family.
